Hell Dogs
SO GOOD! Better than I was expecting by A WIDE ASS MARGIN. Great characters, great acting! Lovely violence. Just so good. Length didn’t feel long and the story was actually super, super good. Really enjoyed this one. Definitely in my top 10 movies I think.
Stoker
Watched like the first half and skimmed the rest. Very metaphorical and deals with sexual awakening so not really my cup of tea. Also has spiders. I respect the vision but I wasn’t a fan.
The Handmaiden
Insanely good. Great twists and acting. The writing was great and the characters were so fun and interesting. WONDERFUL ENDING!
Bedevilled (2010)
Skimmed through. Literally everyone deserved to die. She did nothing wrong. Very dark and gruesome film.
I Saw the Devil
Skimmed through. Man literally should have just killed him at the beginning. Bro, you trying to get vengeance by torturing him just allowed him to kill more people. Good ending though.
Everything Everywhere All at Once
One of the best movies I have ever seen. So wonderful and devastating and lovely. I hope it sweeps the Oscars ♥ (edit: it did hehe). Most certainly in my top 10. Probably top 5.
Kill Booksoon
More fun than I expected. Acting was good and characters were cool. Wish the intern didn’t die but it made sense as to why. I liked the plot about the daughter. Wasn’t expecting it so it was nice. The fight scenes and choreography were nice and decently gory too. Overall, fun watch. Also has one of the guys from DP in it which was cool!
Infinity Pool
So weird lol. It was wild. Of course it was by a Cronenberg lmao. Very violent and mind-bending. Also, lots of orgy scenes haha. Like 2 or 3 I think. The story was cool and although my theory was wrong, it was very interesting to see where they went with it. The characters were all atrocious people and very interesting to watch. Great acting too. Especially the main 2, Mia Goth and Alexander Skarsgard. Overall, a fun watch. Can’t really recommend it to most movie-goers though. I liked it.
Malignant
I skimmed through this one but holy shit it’s balls to da walls crazy lol. So goofy and campy. Maybe one day I will fully watch it but jesus christ the latter half is so funny just because of how insane it is haha.
Ravenous
I LOVED IT SO MUCH!!! It was so goofy and campy and gory and FUN ♥ The acting was spectacular and the dialogue oh the dialogue! Chefs kiss! All of it! I loved this movie so much! The gay subtext, the writing, the FUN of it all! It is definitely in my top 5 movies! I loved this so damn much oh my god. I will most certainly be rewatching it someday. Beautiful. Magnificent. My beloved gay, western, cannibal movie ♥
Renfield
SO FUNNY AND FUN! SUPER GOREY AND WAS SUCH A BLAST TO WATCH IN THEATRES! I went with Ginette, Lina, and Cole and we were all laughing out loud so many times (along with the rest of the (small) theatre crowd). God, it was such a blast. The plot was great! The writing and comedy parts were SO GOOD and executed so well. Nicolas Cage did a great job as Dracula too. Everyone did great. Super fun movie ♥ I will remember this night for a while :D
The Merciless
Finally got around to watching this! Very much worth all the praise! The story was great and had twists that actually made me gasp lmao. The acting was wonderful, which is as expected from the guy from Strangers from Hell. The two main characters were mwah and had INSANE chemistry. He fucking cried when he suffocated him at the end!! What the fuck?????? Doomed from the start good GOD. That is to say, WHAT A FUCKING DEVASTATING ENDING. MY GOD. Like you know there can’t be a happy end but DAMN. What a great ass movie. I liked it a lot ♥
Ginger Snaps
Ok first of all, was not expecting it to be so funny lol. I laughed out loud multiple times and it was so goofy at times. The gore was really well done and the characters were fun! Soundtrack was also surprisingly really good. Some plot points were a little weak (not noticing the dead dog in the field???) but it was overall, a good ass time. Took me 2 sittings to finish it but I had fun and it was worth it! (Also, it’s Canadian lol gooooo Vancouver!! It has stacy from spn and margot from Hannibal)
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish
Brilliant!!! So funny and sweet and oh my god the animation!! The fights were so cool and I love how they switched up the colours and made it so impactful! I also loved the wolf and the fact that I think he was voiced by the Narcos Escobar guy lmao. The dialogue was so funny and great! I loved Goldi’s design too. Florence Pugh did a great job voicing her. What a lovely movie ♥
Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves
BRILLIANT!! UTTERLY AMAZING!!! IT WAS SO FUNNY AND GOOD AND JUST FLAT-OUT FUN! WHAT AN ABSOLUTE BLAST! The characters are all so good and charming and funny! AND GOD, THE ACTING! Everyone did such a good job! They felt so alive and complex! My loves! Xenk was only in it for a bit but wow my hc bisexual king. I loved everyone so much. Bradley Cooper cameo made me hysterical. What a good movie. I loved it so much. SO MUCH. AMAZING ♥
John Wick 4
Beautiful. The lighting is, as always, superb. There was lots of fighting scenes and the choreography was excellent. The acting was good! I loved the tracker character. Not only was he cool but he seemed like he was actually kind of a genuine guy. The blind dude was also cool as hell and it was fun to see how he fought. Overall, the story was nice. Had some good bits, like the German rave club. Ending caught me off guard but it made sense looking back. They couldn’t keep it going forever. Good movie! Wish they went to Sweden or something lol.
Spiderman: Across the Spider-verse
INSANE. 2 HOUR WENT BY SO FAST. EXCELLENT CHARACTER DESIGN, EXCELLENT VOICE ACTING, EXCELLENT ANIMATION AND STORYBOARDING. GREAT MOVIE HOLY SHIT. THE CLIFFHANGER. BRUH. MY GOD. I LOVED IT SO MUCH. WATCHING IT WITH MY FRIENDS WAS A GREAT IDEA. SO FUN. I loved how Hobie helped out Miles and Gwen and I loved that he was smart and clever. Great punk rep I’d say. I hope he doesn’t get washed out with fan shit. He was fun. Pavitr was cool and funny too! I hope those 2 get more time in the next one (they will). Migel was fucking cool too. I loved that he was angry and stuff. Spot is a cool villain as well. Goofy at first and then you realize “oh shit this dude is scary.” Great stuff. I am really looking forward to the next one!
Polite Society
Ok to start off, although the plot got insane, I really liked this movie! The main girl is so cool and I love how strong she is. She is also super pretty and looks tough as hell with blood lmao. This movie was really fun to watch! The comedy is great and the friends are so goofy and supportive! The music choices in this movie are also top notch, not to mention that the dance scene with the main girl was SO GOOD. Overall, fun as hell!
